What Is Chi and How Does It Move Through Your Body?

Chi, or life force, is not a concept to be believed in—it is a direct experience in the body. During a qigong demonstration, Robert Peng invites participants to extend their fingers while mentally visualizing them growing longer. Within moments, measurable differences appear; fingers that seemed equal before now register noticeably different lengths. This is not imagination or wishful thinking. It is chi, the fundamental energetic substance that animates physical form, responding to directed attention and intention. Chi flows deep inside the body, organizing and sustaining what we are at the most basic level.

When you learn qigong, you are learning to feel chi consciously. The sensations are unmistakable: pins and needles on the skin, a pleasant tingling as if tiny ants were climbing across your face, waves of heat and warmth, a sense of heaviness or levitation, even the perception of fragrance or a gentle breeze moving through the body. These are not hallucinations—they are the direct tactile experience of chi as it becomes active and organized through practice. Peng describes it simply: "Chi is the life force that flows deep inside our body and makes us to be as what we are." Once you sense this directly, the ancient claims about healing and transformation stop being abstract and become measurable reality.

What Are the Three Energy Centers and What Do They Govern?

Traditional qigong teaches that the body contains many energy centers, but three primary dantians (elixir fields) are foundational. Each dantian is a concentrated hub where specific life qualities reside and circulate.

The Upper Dantian (Top of the Head): Located at the crown, this center holds the energy of wisdom, intelligence, and good judgment. When this center is strong and balanced, you make clear decisions aligned with long-term wellbeing. You have the capacity to see situations from a higher perspective.

The Middle Dantian (Heart Center): Located at the center of the chest, this dantian governs the energy of love and compassion. A person with strong middle dantian energy naturally wishes to help others, radiates warmth, and feels connected to those around them. However, without balance, this energy can become poorly timed or misdirected. Peng offers a memorable example: "You might be very big in your middle heart, huge love, big compassions, always want to help people, but if here is blocked, you don't have a good sense of timing, a good sense of way to express your big compassion. You might knock at the door of your best friend at midnight, waking them from deep sleep, telling them exciting news about coping with his insomnia. She will be angry, right?"

The Lower Dantian (Abdomen): Located in the lower belly, this energy center holds vitality and life force. A person with strong lower dantian energy is dynamic, never tired, naturally charismatic, and magnetic. Physical stamina, sexual energy, and the capacity for sustained action all flow from this center.

Why Is Balance Between the Three Dantians Essential?

The power of qigong lies not in developing one center in isolation but in harmonizing all three. Many people have imbalanced energy: enormous compassion in the heart but poor timing; sharp intellect at the top but cold detachment; raw vitality at the bottom but no direction. This creates internal friction and external clumsiness.

The solution is the central meridian, a vertical energy channel that runs from the crown of the head all the way down through the spine to the lower body, crossing and harmonizing all three dantians. "We want to be very stable and harmonized," Peng explains. "When all these three dantians and central meridians are moving in a harmonious way, you are a happy person. No matter what conditions you are, no matter you are poor or rich, you are balanced and you have beautiful energies inside."

When the three centers are balanced through the central meridian, something remarkable occurs: you become resourceful and resilient. External circumstances—poverty or wealth, sickness or health—no longer dictate your inner state because your energy is flowing in harmony rather than stagnating or conflicting within itself.

How Does the Central Meridian Connect You to Universal Chi?

The central meridian is not merely an internal plumbing system. It is a direct conduit to what Peng calls universal chi—the vast, infinite reservoir of life force that surrounds and interpenetrates everything. Every human being is born with the capacity to access this universal energy. We do it automatically through breathing, eating, and drinking. But through deliberate qigong practice, you strengthen and refine this connection.

Peng describes the profound shift that occurs when this connection is actively cultivated: "If you can add up your practice of qigong to build up all these connections of the three dantians—this Trinity of energy—then you are part of the universe. Every step you move, the whole universe is moving together with you. When you cry, the leaves are dropping their tears. When you laugh, the whole mountains are joining together with you. So you are part of the universe. Then when all this universe is joined together, you are the universe itself."

This is not poetry or metaphor. In qigong understanding, the boundaries between self and world dissolve through energetic alignment. You become a channel through which universal life force flows, and the universe itself becomes your resource and support.

What Is Funu and How Does It Relate to Qigong Practice?

Traditional Chinese cosmology teaches that the universe contains three treasures: heaven, earth, and human beings. Each level has its own treasures. Heaven holds the sun, moon, and stars. Earth holds fire, wind (feng), and water (shui). Together, wind and water create "fengshui," the art of harmonizing human spaces and energy with the natural forces of the universe.

In a deeper sense, fengshui means aligning your personal chi and vitality with the vast properties and resources of the universe. When you practice qigong and balance your three dantians, you are doing fengshui for your own body and spirit. You are creating conditions where "your energy and your properties and the big properties of the universe are as one." The result is that "when you move, the whole universe is supporting you. You have huge resources to get your energy cultivated, nourished, and supported."

What Practical Exercises Wake Up Chi in the Body?

Peng uses a simple yet effective exercise to demonstrate chi activity. Participants are asked to make reference marks on their wrists, align their finger lengths, then rest one hand on the lap. Using only mental intention, they visualize the fingers of the elevated hand growing longer and longer. When they compare their hands again minutes later, the fingers are visibly longer—sometimes dramatically so. This happens not through physical change but through chi responding to focused attention.

The body scan breathing practice is another foundational exercise. Practitioners inhale while imagining breath and chi filling the entire body—not just the nose or lungs, but every cell, every joint, every corner. On the exhale, tension and stagnation are released. This simple practice begins to organize chi throughout the nervous system and creates the sensation of aliveness and presence.

Striking the waterfall is a dynamic practice where you rhythmically tap the body from head to toe while moving chi through the central meridian. This awakens sensation, clears blockages, and strengthens the vertical flow of energy. The visualization of an eagle or other powerful creature can amplify the effect, as chi responds to imagery and intention.

All of these practices rest on a single principle: chi follows attention. Where your mind goes, energy goes. In qigong, the distinction between visualization and reality collapses because the mental image is the instruction to chi, and chi obeys.

How Does Group Healing Amplify Individual Practice?

Toward the end of his teaching, Peng transitions from individual practice to group healing. In this phase, participants place their hands on their laps with palms facing upward (or downward for those with high blood pressure) to receive universal chi. Individual intentions are then joined with the group's collective energy field.

Peng asks participants to scan the room with their attention, to sense areas of the body where pain, tension, or blockage may exist—whether in themselves or others in the group. The group's combined attention and chi then flood toward these areas. Arthritis, tumors, depression, and other conditions become the targets of unified healing energy.

This works because chi is not private or confined to a single body. It is a shared medium. When multiple people align their intention and direct their cultivated energy toward a common goal, the potency multiplies. Group healing is not about belief; it is about resonance. When enough organized chi meets a point of disease or stagnation, the blockage can shift.

Where to Go From Here

The teachings Robert Peng shares descend from a lineage traceable to his master, Xiao Yao, a Buddhist monk who was renowned for his healing ability and martial mastery. Peng himself underwent a 100-day water fast in a dark room at a remote monastery at age 15—what he calls "small death, big life"—which awakened extraordinary healing capacities that he has spent decades refining and transmitting.

If these ideas resonate, the next step is direct practice. Qigong is not learned from description alone; it must be felt in the body. Seek out a qualified teacher or access instructional materials from Peng's own work. Begin with simple exercises: the finger-lengthening visualization, the full-body breath scan, the waterfall strike. Notice what chi feels like in your own nervous system. Once you have felt it directly, the three dantians are no longer abstract—they become living centers of energy you can sense and cultivate daily. The central meridian becomes a real channel you can open and strengthen. And the connection to universal chi transforms from theory into lived experience. At that point, you are no longer learning about qigong; you are becoming a vessel for it.

[0:06] And now I have the great joy of bringing

[0:10] to the Wake Up Festival stage a true

[0:14] lineage holder, Chiang Master, Robert

[0:19] Pang. Robert grew up in the Hunan

[0:22] Province in China and was sick as a

[0:27] child. Quite sick. so sick that he

[0:31] wasn't even able to go to school at a

[0:33] certain point. And at the age of eight,

[0:38] he snuck out of his house,

[0:42] uh, like a young mischievous

[0:45] 8-year-old and actually through some

[0:48] auspicious

[0:49] circumstances met the person who was to

[0:52] become his Chiang teacher and master,

[0:56] Xiao Yao, a former Buddhist monk.

[1:01] And Robert

[1:03] was not just trained

[1:07] intensively over the next decade or more

[1:10] by Shia Yao, but he was also healed from

[1:14] his illness through his interactions

[1:17] with his teacher. Later in his life,

[1:20] Robert was given the chance to pursue

[1:22] the martial arts aspect of Chiang or the

[1:26] healing aspects. and he chose the

[1:28] healing aspects in part, as he's told

[1:31] me, as an expression of his deep

[1:34] gratitude to his own

[1:36] teacher. At the age of 15, under his

[1:40] teacher's guidance, he went on a 100-day

[1:43] water fast in a dark cave under the

[1:48] temple.

[1:50] And in that 100day experience, I think

[1:54] was quite initiated. He calls it small

[1:59] death, big life. I've known Robert now

[2:03] for just under a year and have a feeling

[2:06] of this huge life between us. A huge

[2:12] life where quite honestly I want to

[2:14] introduce him and his work to as many

[2:16] people as possible because this guy's

[2:19] the real deal. Robert

[2:32] Pang. Thank you, Tammy.

[2:35] is

[2:37] a huge pleasure and big honor to stand

[2:43] here to

[2:46] lead

[2:48] Chong the practice of my

[2:51] life and it's big pleasure to work with

[2:54] sons true because I

[2:57] feel such a beautiful

[3:00] integrities from

[3:02] Tammy all the way to every single single

[3:06] stuffs. So here with big

[3:11] joy I want to share the practice that I

[3:14] learned from my

[3:16] master

[3:20] chong. And before we start, I always

[3:22] like to have some fun, right? Take out

[3:25] your hands. Let's make some do some

[3:28] game. Okay. Look at the lines on your

[3:31] wrist and match them

[3:34] together so that you

[3:36] know your fingers are the same

[3:39] length, right? You get a reference line.

[3:44] Now put down your right hand and rest on

[3:48] your lap and keep the left fingers

[3:52] straight and relaxed.

[3:56] Now just

[3:59] think thinking your fingers left fingers

[4:03] are growing

[4:05] longer growing

[4:07] longer

[4:09] longer

[4:11] longer longer. Keep growing. Try to feel

[4:15] the feelings between the joints of your

[4:17] left fingers. Keep growing.

[4:21] Long, long, long. Out of the roof. Keep

[4:26] growing. Shooting up the sky. Grow.

[4:29] Grow. Long long long

[4:34] long. Longer. Now take another

[4:38] hands. Match them

[4:44] again. Is there any

[4:47] difference? Very good. Very

[4:51] good. We do it in a short time. If you

[4:54] do it uh for longer

[4:56] time, uh you have to wear two pair of

[5:02] gloves. One big one size. Always get

[5:05] ready. All right. Shorter. Make it come

[5:07] back. We don't want to match them

[5:12] again. They come back. All right. Now

[5:17] rest your hands on your lap palms facing

[5:20] upward. The one who has high blood

[5:23] pressure palms facing downward. So your

[5:26] palms are like rectus to receive the

[5:30] energies from this huge energy field. If

[5:33] you feel any pins and needles on your

[5:36] hands on your

[5:37] face that means it's the touches of the

[5:41] chi universal chi. Or you might feel

[5:44] little ants climbing on your face, even

[5:47] a little itchy. Yeah, that's the touch

[5:50] of the

[5:51] chi. Well, if it is real ants, flip it

[5:54] away.

[5:59] Or you can feel some

[6:01] pleasant rising up like levitations or

[6:05] pleasant heaviness or waves of fragrance

[6:10] or breeze or the heat and warmth. These

[6:14] are all the senses of touches of the

[6:17] chi. So you just dive in this oceans of

[6:20] the chi. So what is chi? What is chi?

[6:23] Chi is the life force. Just now we play

[6:27] with the fingers and the chi is moving

[6:29] our fingers. We're not shaking the

[6:30] hands, right? So chi is the life force

[6:35] that

[6:37] flows deep inside our body and to make

[6:42] us to be as what we are. And there are

[6:46] three energy centers. Three energy

[6:47] centers. Huge one. There are many many

[6:50] centers but the big one the big one is

[6:55] top head here in the center here we call

[6:57] it upper

[6:59] danten dan means elixir tien means field

[7:06] elixir field elixir the pearl when the

[7:09] energy is concentrated here they

[7:11] concentrate and form a big energy center

[7:15] well it is small here but any tiny bit

[7:18] of things we You know in the Buddhist

[7:20] the tiniest grain of sand is the whole

[7:24] world. So we call the center upper

[7:27] elixir field upper danten. And this

[7:30] energy hold this center hold energy of

[7:33] our wisdom of

[7:34] intelligence and another center is

[7:38] middle danten. Okay middle energy

[7:40] center. This center holds energies of

[7:43] loving of loving. And the third one is

[7:48] lower dent than tin. Lower dentin. The

[7:50] host energy is vitality. So when

[7:53] vitality is strong, you're always

[7:55] jumping around, never feel tired, very

[7:58] charismatic, charming, sexy, right?

[8:02] Middle dant, you have big love, always

[8:04] want to kiss and help people. Upper

[8:07] danten, wise, good

[8:10] choices. The thing is sometimes the

[8:13] three dant they might not be harmonized.

[8:17] Say for

[8:18] example you might be very big in your

[8:21] middle heart middle dant huge love big

[8:26] compassions always want to help people

[8:28] but if here is

[8:30] blocked you don't have a good sense of

[8:34] timing a good sense of way to express

[8:37] your big compassion love you might knock

[8:41] at the door of your best friend at

[8:44] midnight waking of her and him from the

[8:46] deep

[8:47] sleep telling him the exciting news of

[8:50] coping with his

[8:54] insomnia. She will be angry, right?

[8:58] So then there's an energy center or we

[9:02] can call it center or channel

[9:05] called that channel goes from all the

[9:10] way top head three cross all three

[9:13] dantians and connect all the energies

[9:16] from the universe big and all the way

[9:21] down to the earth and crossing all the

[9:24] three tents. We call this central

[9:27] meridian and the central meridian is

[9:32] harmonizing the three

[9:34] dantch. So you're not big in one then

[9:38] small in others very big here then

[9:40] you're very wobbly right? We want to be

[9:42] very stable and harmonized. When all

[9:45] these three dant

[9:48] and central meridians are moving in

[9:50] harmonious way you are a happy person.

[9:55] No matter what conditions you are, no

[9:57] matter you are poor or rich, you are

[10:01] balanced and you have beautiful energies

[10:03] inside. You appreciate it a lot more.

[10:06] More than that is that because the

[10:08] centum really is connected with

[10:10] universal chi, universal chi. So you're

[10:14] resourceful. Everybody has abundant chi,

[10:16] but you have to be able to hooked up

[10:18] with the universal chi.

[10:22] Well, luckily we're born with this

[10:25] ability like natural ways of breathing.

[10:28] You drink, you eat. If you think about

[10:31] it, you're using this way to have you

[10:34] connected with the universal energy.

[10:38] If you

[10:40] can add up your practice of chigong to

[10:43] build up all this connections of

[10:45] tripology, okay, this trinities of

[10:50] energy

[10:52] pyramid, then you are part of the

[10:56] universe. Every step you move, the whole

[10:59] universe is moving together with you.

[11:03] When you

[11:04] cry, the leaves is dropping the

[11:08] tears. When you laugh, the whole

[11:10] mountains is joining together with you.

[11:13] So you are part of the universe. Then

[11:16] when all this universe is joined

[11:20] together, you are the universe

[11:24] itself. We say in this whole world we

[11:28] have three treasures. The heaven, the

[11:30] earth, the human beings. And in the

[11:33] heaven we have three treasures too. They

[11:36] are sun, the moon, the stars. Some moon

[11:39] stars has strongest connection with our

[11:44] treasures of human beings, upper danten

[11:46] of wisdom, middle danten of love and

[11:49] lower danten of vitality.

[11:53] And lower danten uh sorry the the earth

[11:57] chi we have three treasures too

[12:01] fire wind and

[12:04] water by the way wind in Chinese we say

[12:10] fun water we

[12:12] say put it together

[12:16] fun. So funue is fusing together with

[12:20] our energies. In a broad sense when we

[12:23] say oh we want to do the funu for your

[12:25] home it is the way of making your energy

[12:30] and your properties and your big

[12:33] properties of the universe as one. So

[12:36] when you move the whole universe is

[12:40] supporting you. You have the resource,

[12:42] huge resource to get your energy

[12:46] cultivated, nourished and

[12:50] supported. And all the

[12:52] practice of the chigong I learned from

[12:55] my

[12:56] master are centered on either one of the

[13:02] danten or central meridian or the

[13:05] holistic of them. We call it four golden

[13:08] wheels.

[13:10] I don't know how much time I have left

[13:12] but I would love to lead you some

[13:16] practice. You can dive into this

[13:18] practice and then at the end we do some

[13:21] group

[13:22] healings. So I'm going to invite some

[13:25] universal energies or my master's energy

[13:29] maybe your master's energy who's

[13:31] specialized in dealing with you alone.

[13:34] We're inviting them to do the healing to

[13:36] empower and blessing us. Are you ready?

[13:41] Stand up,

[13:50] please. Now

[13:55] um to find a little bit space. I know

[13:58] it's too crowded, but uh make sure that

[14:00] you can just when you stretch your arms,

[14:02] you're not hitting the others nose.

[14:05] Hitting the shoulders is okay.

[14:08] All

[14:10] right. Wonderful. Now the starting

[14:14] posture. The starting posture. Each time

[14:17] when you do the exercise, we need to do

[14:19] the starting posture. Otherwise, it is

[14:21] like going to the gym. And it's it won't

[14:24] fuse your body, mind, spirit. It won't

[14:26] fuse your three treasures. So what you

[14:29] do is you have your two feet stand

[14:31] paralled as wide as

[14:35] shoulders, knees slightly bent.

[14:38] But tuck slightly under

[14:42] shoulders relaxed. How to relax your

[14:45] shoulders? Inhale. You tense it first.

[14:48] Then you know how you relax you how how

[14:50] relaxed you are. Exhale. Let it

[14:53] drop. Okay. Feel the flush on your

[14:56] hands.

[14:59] Inhale again.

[15:03] Inhale. Yeah. Just hang your arms on the

[15:07] side of your body, jaw tucked a little

[15:10] bit under and the spine just naturally

[15:15] curved. Then you can close your

[15:18] eyes. The tongue is just resting on the

[15:22] roof of the

[15:23] mouth. Smile. The corner of the mouth

[15:26] going up. Widen the space between your

[15:31] eyebrows.

[15:33] Smile. and open all the pores of his

[15:36] skin. Breathe in through the pores of

[15:39] the skin. Not just the nose, the whole

[15:42] skin. Breathe out through the

[15:55] skin. And listen to the deep silence

[15:59] inside of you.

[16:25] Now you can slowly close open your eyes

[16:28] and follow me by bending the knees

[16:31] moving your body up and

[16:34] down. If your knees is hard, you can do

[16:37] much less. Yeah.

[16:43] Well, the arms just moving passively.

[16:45] You don't shake the arms for now yet.

[16:47] The whole upper body just relax while

[16:50] you're shaking. Imagine you're in the

[16:53] playground playing your trampoline as a

[16:55] little child. All right. Jumping around,

[17:02] jumping, right? and

[17:07] laugh. Right? While you're jumping,

[17:10] imagine all the joints are loosen

[17:13] up. The joints of your spine, the joints

[17:17] of your shoulders, your elbows, your

[17:23] fingers. When you're a little child,

[17:25] when you're bored, how do you do? You

[17:27] know, right? Let's do that.

[17:31] Inhale.

[17:50] Oh, hello.

[18:12] Good. Now shake your

[18:24] hands behind.

[18:42] front

[18:50] side. Now you know why I ask you, right?

[19:07] above

[19:14] down more.

[19:19] Wow. And stop.

[19:24] What a workout, right? You know how long

[19:27] did we

[19:28] do? Less than three

[19:31] minutes. Yeah. So, it's a very good way

[19:33] for you to start in the morning. Even if

[19:36] you're very sleepy, you wake up in 3

[19:40] minutes. All right. Now, let's just

[19:44] breathing. Feel the feelings that

[19:47] happens in your hands, your body. Watch

[19:51] inside while you're adjusting your

[19:53] breathing.

[20:22] Now raise your arms from the

[20:25] side and turn your palms

[20:29] up. Raise up. Look at your

[20:32] hands and lower

[20:38] down. Inhale.

[20:45] Exhale.

[20:48] Inhale. Exhale. Imagine it is the

[20:51] breathing that raise your

[20:53] hands. Breathing. Raise your

[20:56] hands.

[20:59] Exhale. Like a suspension bridge. An

[21:02] invisible rope of breathing. Raise your

[21:04] hands and lower your

[21:08] hands. Inhale. Pull the earth

[21:12] chi huge

[21:15] turn. Inhale embracing heaven

[21:18] chi empower your

[21:21] upper

[21:23] middle lower

[21:26] den.

[21:29] Inhale.

[21:30] [Music]

[21:32] Turn heaven

[21:35] chi

[21:36] upper

[21:39] middle

[21:41] chin. Pull the earth's

[21:44] chi huge turn and mixing with the heaven

[21:48] chi. Empower your human chi.

[21:53] Upper, middle, lower.

[21:56] Din. Let's repeat a few more.

[22:00] Inhale.

[22:02] Exhale.

[22:05] Inhale. Exhale.

[22:20] One more.

[22:22] Inhale.

[22:25] Exhale.

[22:27] Inhale. Exhale. Now move your hands in

[22:31] front of you.

[22:34] Inhale. Exhale. Like you're straight uh

[22:38] striking a waterfall in front of you.

[22:41] Striking the waterfall with your

[22:43] palm. Striking the waterfall with the

[22:46] back of the

[22:48] palm. Striking the waterfall. Stroking.

[22:53] Stroking. Forgive my

[22:56] English.

[22:59] Inhale.

[23:02] Exhale. Stroking the

[23:06] waterfall. Stroking the waterfall.

[23:17] Stroking

[23:19] up. Stroking

[23:23] down.

[23:26] Up.

[23:28] Down. Last one. Inhale.

[23:31] Up. Down. And stand

[23:34] up. And relax.

[23:40] Raise your arms from the

[23:43] side like you're hugging a big

[23:49] ball. Move your hands close to your

[23:51] heart and open your heart to the

[23:57] universe. Exhale close to your heart

[23:59] like a big door

[24:01] open.

[24:04] Inhale. Exhale.

[24:07] Or you can imagine it's like huge eagle

[24:11] flying in the

[24:20] sky.

[24:24] Inhale.

[24:27] Exhale.

[24:30] Inhale.

[24:32] Exhale. Lie in the sky.

[24:36] Reveal your

[24:39] heart. Open your

[24:42] heart. Empower your

[24:45] heart. Open your

[24:48] heart. Empower your heart.

[25:09] One more. Inhale

[25:13] open. Exhale close and lower your

[25:18] hands

[25:19] down and

[25:24] rest. Inhale. Raise your hands up. Bring

[25:27] up your lower danten chi up. Exhale

[25:31] lower danten chi

[25:34] down. Bring your danten chi up and join

[25:38] with your wisdom and loving chi and

[25:40] lower

[25:41] down. So you're fusing your three dant

[25:44] chi.

[26:00] Inhale. Hold it. Turn to your

[26:03] right. Then

[26:07] push. Inhale.

[26:10] Pull. Exhale.

[26:12] Push. Like in a theme park, you're

[26:15] pulling that big

[26:17] wheel. Push the whale.

[26:20] Exhale. Inhale. Pull the whale.

[26:25] Push the

[26:27] wheel. Pull the

[26:30] wheel. You know just this simple

[26:32] movement are moving almost all the big

[26:35] joints of your body. Push the

[26:38] wheel. Pull the

[26:41] wheel and keep them young. When we get

[26:44] old, arthritis is the main thing, right?

[26:47] That make you

[26:49] supple and

[26:52] flexible. flow like

[27:00] water. Inhale, pull the

[27:03] wheel. Exhale, push the

[27:10] wheel. Still imagine is the breathing

[27:13] that move your body and hands and arms.

[27:26] Good. Now hold your hands like this.

[27:30] Turn to the other

[27:32] side. And exhale. Push the

[27:36] wheel. Pull the whale. The same as you

[27:39] did the other side. Push the

[27:41] wheel. Pull the

[27:46] wheel. Inhale.

[27:48] Pull. Exhale. Push. Huge wheel. As huge

[27:53] as you can

[27:55] imagine. We call it the heaven

[28:01] wheel. Wheel of heaven.

[28:36] One more.

[28:39] Inhale. Exhale.

[28:42] Hold your

[28:43] hands and turn to the front and

[28:53] relax. Raise your arms above your

[29:00] head. Imagine in between your

[29:03] hands there's an energy chibo like an

[29:07] energy bloom in between your hands.

[29:16] You want to move this ball to the

[29:19] horizon to the earth along with your

[29:24] spine back to the

[29:26] sky.

[29:29] Horizon,

[29:31] earth, spine, and back to the

[29:36] sky. Try to make your spine

[29:41] curve that kunini energies is rising up

[29:45] mixing with heaven and earth's chi

[30:20] Now hold the ball above your

[30:23] head. Turn the ball to your

[30:27] right and turn to your left.

[30:32] Move the board to your

[30:34] left and to your

[30:37] right. Bend the knees to the

[30:48] side. Beautiful. You're doing

[30:51] great.

[30:53] Great. Now move the boat to the front,

[30:57] then to the

[30:59] side. to the front to the side. So it's

[31:03] like a figure eight,

[31:05] right? You're moving very

[31:12] beautifully. Ladle it from the

[31:15] bottom. from the

[31:37] bottom.

[31:47] Beautiful. Okay. Now look at me. Follow

[31:55] me. Hands stay here. The other

[32:00] hands form a funnel like a

[32:04] vortex. Yeah. And imagine the universal

[32:07] cheese through this vortex flushing all

[32:11] the way to every corner of your body

[32:14] through the central

[32:27] meridian. Inhale, heels up, palms above

[32:30] your head. Exhale. Lower

[32:34] down and settle the chi to your lower

[32:40] dant. Sit down,

[32:44] please. Let's nourish our chi.

[32:49] You know when I was practicing with my

[32:51] master, he was very kind and nice to me

[32:54] and I was very

[32:58] diligent and thought very good about

[33:02] myself. But for some time he was driving

[33:05] me in America say nuts, right? Driving

[33:08] me crazy. He said you should you should

[33:11] 24 hours a day. Do the 24 hours a day

[33:13] was how can that be possible? Then about

[33:16] two months

[33:18] later, he told me why he's saying this

[33:22] only one time, but I remember

[33:26] now for all the rest of my

[33:29] life. He said, "You should nourish your

[33:34] chi." The chi is much clever than

[33:38] you. What we did is we're training the

[33:41] chi. We're moving the chi here and

[33:43] there, right?

[33:44] Allow the chi to work on you for

[33:50] now. What you

[33:53] do? Be aware of your lower

[33:56] danten. Anytime you think you are a

[34:00] chigong person, think about your danten

[34:03] like you have holy

[34:04] baby over there. Because danten is

[34:07] energy center that at the base to form a

[34:11] good pyramid.

[34:14] Well, that's you can do it 24 hours a

[34:17] day in with the intervals, right? So

[34:20] that is what she means is well there's

[34:23] another time another thing you can do

[34:25] that after you

[34:27] practice before you go to bed when

[34:29] you're lying down or you're sitting on

[34:31] rest allow the

[34:34] chi to

[34:36] seep to penetrate deep inside of your

[34:40] body. It's like a sponge. The sponge, if

[34:44] you put a dry sponge in a hot bath, warm

[34:48] water, they absorb all that warm waters

[34:51] deeply penetrating. You have the chi

[34:54] inside of you and you are in the chi.

[34:58] So, we have an affirmation for

[35:01] nourishing

[35:03] chi. I am in

[35:06] chi. After me, please. I am in chi. Chi

[35:11] is in me.

[35:13] is in me. I am in chi. Chi is in me.

[35:18] Yeah, you can keep silently chanting

[35:22] while doing the nourishing chi. All

[35:25] right. And I'm going to chant as like a

[35:28] blast in Chinese. We don't have time to

[35:30] learn it now. But the Chinese way is say

[35:40] Now close your

[35:43] eyes. There's no effort. Just sitting,

[35:47] lying down. Allow the chi to seep to

[35:52] every tiny particles of your

[35:57] body. Every tiny particles. It's like

[36:01] porous absorb. You know we need to be

[36:04] empty in order to be absorbing. So they

[36:08] are hollow there. They are open to have

[36:11] the chi to feel

[36:15] into every tiny

[36:17] particles. Any t every tiny particles is

[36:21] nourished

[36:22] [Music]

[36:24] glowing

[36:27] juicy vibrating happily.

[36:33] I am in

[36:35] chi is in

[36:44] me. You're soaking in this ocean of the

[36:48] chi

[36:50] penetrating every tiny

[36:52] particles is charged with the chi.

[37:06] I am in

[37:08] chi. She is in

[37:13] me.

[37:16] Floating together with that mild wave up

[37:20] and

[37:21] down with the oceans of the chi.

[37:25] [Music]

[37:34] [Music]

[37:56] floating deep into the ocean.

[38:03] [Music]

[38:19] [Music]

[39:23] Now watch your breath. Breathing

[39:28] in and breathing out.

[39:33] When you inhale, feel the universal

[39:36] energy is charging you even to the point

[39:38] of tight. Right? When you exhale,

[39:42] totally relax, letting

[39:45] go.

[39:48] Inhale, feel

[39:51] charged. Exhale, relax, and letting go

[39:55] of anything.

[40:01] Inhale.

[40:07] Exhale. Follow the

[40:09] ocean. The rhythm of this

[40:24] ocean.

[40:25] Inhale.

[40:27] Feeling

[40:29] charged. Exhale. Totally let go.

[43:20] Bring your

[43:21] attention to your upper danten inside

[43:24] your

[43:26] head and then your middle dantion in

[43:30] your chest inside the

[43:33] heart and lower danten in the lower

[43:36] torso.

[43:41] So now bring your awareness back to your

[43:44] heart

[43:47] again. Imagine there's a tiny smile, a

[43:50] smiling face over there. And the smiling

[43:56] face is like a little drops of water

[44:01] goes into the water and ripples.

[44:05] Rimples,

[44:07] wrinkles and spreading all the

[44:10] way to all of your

[44:14] body. And keep wrinkling, keep wrinkling

[44:17] beyond your

[44:18] body and ripple all the

[44:21] way to the

[44:25] horizon. And everybody's energy

[44:29] is mixing together with your beautiful

[44:32] ripples of

[44:36] smile. Take a deep

[44:43] inhale.

[44:50] Inhale. Inhale. Raise your

[44:53] hand. Ah.

[44:56] Lower

[44:56] down. One more

[45:04] inhale.

[45:07] Inhale. Put your hands in the prayer

[45:12] position and open your eyes

[45:16] slowly and look at each other with your

[45:19] smile.

[45:24] Um, I'm sorry we don't have time to do

[45:27] the close uh to do the group healing.

[45:36] It says times up. Is that okay? Tammy

[45:40] the boss. Okay.

[45:42] [Applause]

[45:48] Now um we need to invite the universal

[45:51] cheese okay to come to us and um but we

[45:56] need to do some work right you work you

[45:59] work it's very simple just sitting

[46:02] relaxed and have your two back of the

[46:05] tea just hold start holding there yeah

[46:08] then you

[46:16] chant Can you feel the vibrations on

[46:19] your lips? Yeah. It's even a little bit

[46:21] itchy, right? Okay. Stuff

[46:24] now. So when I'm ch I'm chanting totally

[46:28] different because I'm I'm going to

[46:30] inviting them and you the chanting of

[46:33] this way what you do is salute

[46:37] invitation and guiding. You need to make

[46:40] yourself open and guiding your master to

[46:45] where you want to have them to work. All

[46:47] right. So you when you chant you can

[46:51] chant it to the place you want to do the

[46:55] healing you would bring it to stomach

[46:58] tumors going over there arthritis

[47:01] anything you know the place you bring it

[47:03] there to make that place bright up light

[47:07] up our chigong is called elixir light

[47:10] chigong we always use light okay so

[47:12] light up the place when you don't have

[47:14] the shadows you are healthy and happy

[47:16] All right. Any dark shadows there,

[47:19] there's some blockages. You light it up.

[47:21] Then the healings is happening on

[47:23] itself. All right. If you don't know

[47:26] where say I'm depressed, depressed here

[47:31] or depressed here, you don't know. Find

[47:35] a place. Maybe on the little tips of

[47:38] your index finger or on your toes or on

[47:41] your

[47:42] nose or on your knees. Any place you

[47:45] feel comfortable. as a location for your

[47:49] problem. Chanting over there, brighten

[47:53] it. Is that clear?

[47:57] Wonderful. So now let's sit

[48:01] relaxed. Make

[48:03] yourself 100% humble and receiving.

[48:08] Okay. Close your eyes. Rest your palms

[48:12] on your lap. Palms facing

[48:14] up. Anyone whose palms uh have high

[48:18] blood pressure palms down that helps to

[48:20] lower blood

[48:24] pressure. Now be aware of the energies

[48:28] around

[48:30] you. That can be warms or the breeze or

[48:35] aroma, the fragrance.

[48:39] Or you might feel some little cat

[48:42] licking on your lips or licking on your

[48:44] side or the cheeks. They are all fine,

[48:48] beautiful energies of

[48:55] connection. Now bring your attention to

[48:59] inside of your body.

[49:05] inside. Pay attention to your upper

[49:07] danten, your wisdom chi. Say

[49:13] hello. Attention to your middle danten,

[49:15] your loving chi.

[49:19] Greeting your lower

[49:22] danten vitality

[49:25] chi. Say hello.

[49:31] Now bring your attention to where you

[49:34] want to have the

[49:37] master to heal and empower

[49:40] you. Inhale.

[49:49] [Laughter]

[49:56] So,

[50:02] so cold

[50:06] [Music]

[50:12] Home.

[50:18] [Music]

[50:27] So cold.

[50:30] [Music]

[50:36] Oh, so

[50:40] [Music]

[50:47] [Music]

[50:53] Yeah.

[51:04] So

[51:06] [Laughter]

[51:07] [Music]

[51:26] [Music]

[51:40] song so

[51:42] [Music]

[51:52] [Music]

[51:58] me.

[52:01] [Music]

[52:09] Yeah.

[52:14] [Music]

[52:23] So,

[52:28] so

[52:30] [Music]

[52:33] Home.

[52:39] [Music]

[52:57] Oh, wait.

[53:06] Now

[53:07] allow the chi that you master just

[53:12] empowered spread all over your body. Not

[53:15] just the place it works just now, but

[53:18] all over your body to allow every single

[53:21] cells to

[53:23] share that power of the

[53:27] chi and tell

[53:29] yourself I am

[53:33] iniqi is in me.

[53:45] I am in

[53:49] she is in me.

[54:03] Every tiny particles is

[54:08] blessed charged

[54:11] with universal chi.

[54:16] [Music]

[54:25] [Music]

[55:06] [Music]

[56:16] Now put your both hands on your

[56:21] heart and chant after

[56:23] me. Thank you master.

[56:28] Thank you master for empowerment and

[56:31] healing. Thank you for

[57:09] Thank you very much. Have a wonderful

[57:16] day. Thank you.

Qigong practice involves visualization, breath work, and gentle movement that activates each dantian. The most direct approach is to use the central meridian—a vertical channel running through all three centers—which harmonizes them. Simple exercises like full-body breath scanning (inhaling chi throughout your entire body) and directing attention to each center during practice gradually balance wisdom, love, and vitality.
Chi manifests as distinct physical sensations: tingling, pins and needles, warmth, heaviness, levitation, or even perceiving fragrance and breeze in the body. These sensations occur spontaneously when chi becomes active through practice. In the finger-lengthening exercise, chi responds so quickly to mental intention that measurable physical changes appear within minutes, demonstrating that chi is real and responsive to attention.
Yes. Group healing practices direct concentrated chi toward specific areas of pain, disease, or blockage. When multiple practitioners align their intention and chi, the potency increases. Conditions like arthritis, tumors, and depression can shift when stagnant energy is cleared and fresh chi flows to affected areas. However, qigong works through energetic and neurological channels, not through belief alone.
Fengshui (wind and water) is the art of harmonizing human spaces and chi with natural forces. Qigong does the same thing internally—it aligns your personal energy and body with universal chi. When you cultivate your three dantians through qigong, you create a condition where your energy and the universe's resources become one, so the whole universe supports your wellbeing.
In qigong, chi follows attention. When you visualize your fingers growing longer, chi responds by organizing and elongating the digits. When you imagine breath filling every cell, chi fills those spaces. The mental image is the instruction; chi obeys it. This principle underlies all qigong practice—the mind directs energy through focused intention and visualization.
The central meridian is a vertical energy channel running from the crown of the head through the spine to the lower body, crossing all three dantians. It harmonizes wisdom, love, and vitality so they work together rather than in conflict. A balanced central meridian makes you resilient, resourceful, and able to face any circumstance with equanimity and organized energy.
Chi responses can occur quickly. In Peng's demonstrations, participants feel chi sensations and see measurable physical changes within minutes of practice. However, the depth and subtlety of chi perception develops over time. Beginners may first notice heat, tingling, or heaviness; with continued practice, more refined sensations and deeper energetic shifts emerge.
