Priyanka teaches yoga, meditation and pranayama (breathwork) from Keswick, Ontario, and online. She began practicing yoga at 17 to navigate the stresses of youth. Her website says she has taught since 2012, first in India and then in Canada after her move in 2019. A native of India, she was raised by an American mother and an Indian father, and she describes her work as a bridge between East and West.
Before teaching full time, Priyanka worked in a corporate career at Wipro as a Communications Trainer. In 2011 she left that role for a journey through South India, where she deepened her practice through Vipassana meditation and completed her yoga teacher training at the Sivananda Vedanta Meenakshi Ashram. She later studied Ashtanga Yoga at the Pattabhi Jois Institute in Mysore under Sri Saraswathi Jois. In New Delhi she taught a private clientele from more than 42 countries, and she reports over 20,000 teaching hours.
Her teaching draws on Ashtanga and Hatha, Yin and Restorative, Vipassana and Kundalini, and somatic breathwork. Her Sun Salutations are spontaneous rather than repetitive, so students stay present with the alignment of body, breath and energy centers. She weaves Indian mythological stories into the practice, helping students connect the movement of the body to the movement of their lives. Her guided meditations blend Vipassana, yoga and Buddhist philosophies and are held without music, to keep the focus on stillness.
Priyanka also supports people with medical challenges such as scoliosis, slipped disks and autoimmune conditions, often working with medical professionals. Her YouTube channel offers free yoga, breathwork and meditation for all levels and body types, including Chair Yoga, Yoga for Tradeworkers and nervous system regulation. She also leads retreats and a 200-hour yoga teacher training, and she is the granddaughter of the freedom fighter and journalist Lala Desh Bandhu Gupta.
