Lightmotiv Yoga és Selfness Center — Budapest, 1094 Hungary
Yoga and selfness centre on Páva utca, Budapest, with a colour-coded timetable
The first thing Lightmotiv asks of a newcomer is to read the timetable by colour. Each class at the Yoga & Selfness Center on Páva utca is tagged with a hue that names its effect. Red is energising and enlivening, blue calming and flowing, green grounding and balancing. Purple focuses on the crown chakra and is meditative, and pink is centred on children and expectant mothers.
The centre presents itself as a place and a holding community, with practitioners, teachers, therapists and trainers all belonging to it. The stated idea is a shared path on which support is given and received, so that people can connect with themselves, recharge, grow stronger and, when ready, step past their own limits. The advice to students is practical: try the classes, find the one or two that suit this stage of life, and return to them week after week.
The weekly rhythm has its own discipline. Morning and late-morning classes need a booking by 22:00 the evening before, and a class nobody has booked by then is cancelled. Afternoon and evening classes run without automatic cancellation. Workshops, sound baths and concerts have their own sign-up rules.
The calendar reaches well beyond the mat. A sound bath is held on the last Saturday of every month, and aerial yoga has its own parent-and-child workshops during school breaks. Autumn 2026 brings a free introductory Kundalini yoga workshop on 18 October, a pranayama and yoga nidra session on 25 October, and a Temple Day on 7 November.
Music has a strong place here, led by Lovas András. His programs include Handpan Csillagképek, a ten-session, 60-minute handpan course for beginners and advanced players, with no musical training required. Ecstatic Pulse Budapest is a fortnightly free-dance series on Thursday evenings, with 20 sessions in the 2026/27 season. Each session has its own theme, running from Roots and Awakening through Release, Connection, Flow and Presence to Homecoming and Celebration.
