Caverly Morgan is a spiritual teacher, nonprofit founder, speaker and author who blends the original spirit of Zen with a modern nondual and relational approach. Her practice began in 1995 and included eight years of training in a silent Zen monastery. She has been teaching contemplative practice since 2001. Named one of 2025's powerful women of the mindfulness movement, she supports people in remembering their true nature, not through more techniques or self-improvement strategies, but through presence, inquiry and togetherness.
She is the author of The Heart of Who We Are: Realizing Freedom Together and A Kids Book About Mindfulness. She founded the nonprofits Peace in Schools, which created the first for-credit mindfulness class in U.S. public high schools, and Realizing Freedom Together. Her work centers on making teachings that lead to liberation accessible to all, and on finding ways for communities to awaken collectively.
Caverly leads retreats, workshops and online classes internationally, creating spaces to return to an inherent wholeness, the peace and belonging that doesn't depend on anything being different. Her students describe her as warm and welcoming, and her own site says she brings insight, passion, warmth and humor to students of all ages and experience levels. She has taught and presented at venues including the Science and Nonduality Conference, Harvard, Stanford, 1440 Multiversity, Esalen and the San Francisco Zen Center, and has been featured in Mindful magazine and The New York Times.
She lives on Whidbey Island, in Washington, with her husband Vineet and their dog Dōgen.
